Crescent Communities Completes Construction of Built-to-Suit Industrial Development for Structural Building Solutions
TRINITY, North Carolina – (March 27, 2024): Crescent Communities, a nationally recognized market-leading real estate investor, developer, and operator of mixed-use communities and industrial projects, announced today the completion of its newest development from AXIAL by Crescent Communities, a built-to-suit facility for Structural Building Solutions, LLC. The 120,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility is located just off the I-85 corridor in Trinity, NC, about 20 minutes southwest of Greensboro, and will serve as a component manufacturing and distribution operation for the organization.
Strategically positioned in a key location to serve the needs of the industry, Structural Building Solutions, a Sumitomo Forestry Group company, will produce materials such as roof trusses, floor trusses, and wall panels used in residential housing and wooden commercial and multifamily buildings. Sumitomo Forestry Group, Ltd., founded in 1691 and headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, has accumulated technologies and expertise related to wood and wood products over its nearly 400 years in business. One of the company’s major lines of business is housing and construction. In 2018, Sumitomo Forestry Group officially acquired Crescent Communities.
The project promises significant economic benefits for the region. The center is expected to employ 129 people by 2027, with average wages of $45,782, to supply building materials and service subsidiary residential homebuilders in the Raleigh and Charlotte markets.

The completion of the Structural Building Solutions facility marks the latest project in Crescent Communities’ robust industrial portfolio, including the groundbreaking of AXIAL Midway 321 in Lincolnton, NC, continued construction at AXIAL Rapid Commerce in Charlotte, NC, AXIAL Bonds Farm in Concord, NC, and AXIAL Gateway 95 in Richmond, VA, and the completion of AXIAL 301 Manatee in Bradenton, FL, AXIAL Crosspoint in Greenville, SC, and AXIAL Southgate 77 in Rock Hill, SC, collectively solidifying the company’s position as a leader in industrial development. AXIAL by Crescent Communities has experience encompassing more than $869 million in completed industrial projects. Today, its development portfolio features 63 industrial projects, with nearly 14 million square feet of completed projects and more than 3 million square feet of projects in development or operation.
